Safety on Campus

At DelVal, our campus is one of the safest in the nation, and we strive every day to keep it that way.

Our campus Public Safety team trains annually, on campus and with the newest guidance, in order to maintain the highest standard of preparedness. We maintain very close ties with the two local police departments that cover our campus. We meet with their chiefs on a regular basis, and we even allow them to utilize our campus for emergency response training. Both departments have demonstrated outstanding emergency response times.

The campus's technical infrastructure includes:

  • The LiveSafe app, an app designed to facilitate direct and discreet communication with Public Safety or emergency 911 services. Key features include:
    • Panic Alarm: Send a silent alarm with a ‘panic button’ that will notify Public Safety of your location on campus and will identify you by your phone number. If you are not on campus, the alarm will send information to 911 wherever you are.
    • Emergency Options: Call or text Public Safety, or call 911
    • SafeWalk: Have a friend track you virtually if you are walking on campus
    • SafeWalk with Public Safety: Request an escort on campus from Public Safety
    • Access a Campus Map
  • The Aggie Alert emergency notification system. This system pushes alerts via emails, SMS text (cell phones), the campus televideo system, campus network-connected PCs, and social media. Sign up for alerts.

As a student at DelVal you are automatically enrolled in our text and email emergency alert system, Aggie Alert. This is the best way for you to receive timely information in the event of lightening, a tornado, or any potentially harmful situation. You have the right to opt-out at your discretion, but again, we strongly recommend that you stay enrolled in the AggieAlert system.

If you have questions about Aggie Alert or you believe you are not receiving messages, please email Carlos Rodriguez at carlos.rodriguez@delval.edu.
