The Princeton Review Names DelVal to the 2019 ‘Best in the Northeast’ List

Delaware Valley University has been named one of the best schools in the Northeast by The Princeton Review for the ninth consecutive year. The well-known education services company lists the University among its "Best in the Northeast" recommended schools in its "2019 Best Colleges: Region by Region" feature. Only 225 schools in the Northeast made the list. Schools are selected based on factors such as academic excellence and student satisfaction. 

"We chose Delaware Valley University and the other outstanding institutions on this list primarily for their excellent academics," said Princeton Review Editor-in-Chief Robert Franek. 

Franek added that the Princeton Review "also gave careful consideration” to feedback from student surveys.   

"We designed our 80-question survey to include questions that prospective applicants might ask on a campus visit,” said Franek. “Only schools that permit us to independently survey their students are eligible to be considered for our regional 'best' lists, and only schools at which we see a strong level of satisfaction among their enrolled students make it to our final slate of regional 'best' college selections."

The Princeton Review survey asks students to rate their schools on several issues –from the accessibility of their professors to the quality of their science lab facilities – and answer questions about themselves, their fellow students, and their campus life.  

Comments from surveyed students are quoted in the school profiles on The Princeton Review site. Some student comments in the profile on DelVal are “professors at DelVal are devoted, enthusiastic and eager to teach,” and “professors want to see students succeed.”
