Students Prepare to Host A-Day Weekend

Posted on

A-Day Weekend, a family-friendly community event and popular Doylestown tradition, will be held at Delaware Valley University April 27 through April 29. Students are a part of planning the event each year.

A-Day, which stands for Activities Day, brings the campus and the surrounding community together for educational exhibits, competitions, entertainment, fun, and great food such as thick, homemade milkshakes and delicious funnel cakes.

New for this year are a tiny house tour, a horse-driven carousel, a wine concert at The Market (April 27, 6-9 p.m.), and Kids’ Night (April 28, 4-7 p.m.).

The first A-Day was held in 1949 and was a single day when the students showcased various agricultural displays and exhibits.  Today, the tradition continues with the hard work and dedication of the University’s students who work to plan and implement the event with minimal guidance from the University’s staff, faculty, and administration. Students began planning this year's event at the close of A-Day 2017.
