DelVal to offer on-site courses at Horsham Air Guard Station
Mar 04, 2015
Delaware Valley College and the Pennsylvania Air National Guard signed an agreement today that expands educational opportunities to military personnel serving at the Horsham Air Guard Station in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania.
Under the terms of the agreement, DelVal will teach on-site undergraduate and graduate level courses at the Horsham Air Guard Station. The agreement also extends the benefits of DelVal’s Military Scholars for America (MSA) program to eligible students. The MSA program provides financial support for military service members enrolled in DelVal’s educational programs. Service members stationed at the base, their spouses and Department of Defense employees are also eligible for the MSA program.
DelVal currently offers courses at Fort Indiantown Gap National Guard Training Center in Annville, Pennsylvania and at an Air Guard Base in Middletown, Pennsylvania. The program at the Horsham Air Guard Station was tested in the fall 2014 semester with the first DelVal undergraduate course taught on-site. The agreement formalizes DelVal’s commitment to continue to deliver undergraduate and graduate level education to the Horsham facility.
“DelVal is honored to support the military community,” said DelVal President Dr. Joseph Brosnan. “We are committed to providing affordable education to our brave service members for military and post military careers. This new program the Horsham Air Guard Station underscores our commitment to expanding educational opportunities to deserving military personnel and their families.”
“Our Military Scholars for America program started with 12 students in 2010 and today, more than 140 military students are enrolled in the program,” said Arthur Goon, vice president for enrollment management. “Our total military student population, including non-MSA students, has grown from 39 to more than 210 during that same time period.”
