Delaware Valley University is partnering with The Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), a professional organization, to host a career day for high school students interested in exploring various  accounting career options. The event will be held in the University's Moumgis Auditorium on Tuesday, Nov. 15 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. About 80 high school students from Abington, Central Bucks, Quakertown and Wissahickon are expected to attend.

"The career day is a great opportunity for students to learn about the opportunities in accounting and visit a university campus," Dr.  Elizabeth Kolar, a business faculty member at the University, who is helping to bring the event to campus.

FBI Special Agent Bob Loughney will be the keynote speaker. He will share with students about using accounting knowledge and  experience for criminal investigations. Loughney conducts investigations of violations of federal criminal law in more than 200  categories working on cases involving topics such as corporate fraud, financial institution fraud and health care fraud.

After the keynote presentation, students will be attending speaker rotations, featuring DelVal business alumni. Rachel Joyce '07,  Jordan Walls '13 and Steve Wodock '07 will be speaking to the students during the rotations. Students will also have a chance to play  accounting Jeopardy for prizes. At the end of the event, the University's admission staff will provide information about DelVal's  business programs and offer a campus tour.
