Heather Oeltjen-Bruns '19, an animal science major at Delaware Valley University, was selected for a Pennsylvania Farm Show scholarship.

Oeltjen-Bruns, of Quakertown, Pennsylvania, was awarded a $3,500 scholarship from the Pennsylvania Farm Show Scholarship Foundation and $2,000 in matching funds from DelVal.

The Foundation focuses on providing scholarship support for eligible students who demonstrate a commitment to Pennsylvania agriculture. Since 1994, the Foundation has awarded more than $1.3 million in scholarships to students.

The funds will help Oeltjen-Bruns pursue her career goals.

"With my involvement in the 4-H program, I was exposed to many different career options working with large animals," said Oeltjen-Bruns. "I personally see myself having a career where I get to work hands-on with animals regarding their health once I graduate. While working towards my degree, I will take all the opportunities that I can to learn about the large animal industries."
