Delaware Valley University Gets Ready to Host A-Day Weekend

A-Day Weekend, a popular Bucks County tradition, will be held from Friday, April 26 through Sunday, April 28 at Delaware Valley University.

"The students have been working really hard all year long to make A-Day a great experience,” said Amanda Goslee '19, a member of the A-Day Executive Team. “We're excited to be working with PA Dairymen's Association this year to provide their famous milkshakes and also have a new revamped Kid's Corner to provide fun activities for the children."

A-Day, which stands for Activities Day, is a family-friendly event organized and run by the students of the University to benefit campus activities and clubs. This three-day event brings the campus and the surrounding community together for educational exhibits, competitions, entertainment, fun, and great food such as thick, homemade milkshakes and delicious funnel cakes.

The first A-Day was held in 1949. At that time, A-Day was a single day when students worked together to showcase various agricultural displays and exhibits. Today, the tradition continues with the hard work and dedication of the University’s students. Students gain hands-on, real-world event planning experience by planning and implementing the event with minimal guidance from the university’s staff, faculty, and administration. Since 2004, A-Day has been part of the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs.
