May 21, 2012

Delaware Valley College has named Deborah Dailey as the college’s new associate vice president for research, planning, and accreditation.

In this role, Dailey will lead and direct the college’s institutional effectiveness, student learning outcomes assessment and enhancement, and institutional research and planning. She will also be responsible for overseeing the Office of the Registrar and college accreditation processes, and will coordinate program review and assessment cycles to measure and support program quality.

“When I visited campus there was a sense of excitement and a lot of energy,” Dailey said. “My work will build on the excellent foundations that others have laid and will develop partnerships focusing on meaningful assessment and data-informed decision making. The work we do will support the college’s strategic goals and I look forward to being a part of the DelVal community at this very exciting time.”

Dailey will join DelVal from Washington and Lee University, where she has served as assistant provost for institutional effectiveness and director of institutional research since 2007. During her time there she organized the university’s assessment efforts and led it through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools reaffirmation process.

Previously, Dailey served as associate director of planning and institutional research at Georgetown University and assistant director for institutional research at University of Alabama at Birmingham.

She is a graduate of University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, where she earned a B.A. in history, and University of Kansas, Lawrence, where she earned a M.S.Ed. in educational administration with an emphasis in higher education.

Dailey will join DelVal community in August and report directly to Dr. Bashar W. Hanna, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty.

“I am looking forward to have Debbie join our campus leadership team,” Hanna said. “She brings a wealth of experience to this critical position.  I am completely confident that Debbie has the talent and competencies to lead research, planning and accreditation at DelVal.”
