Arts on Campus Presents Second Annual Student Photography Show

Delaware Valley University will present its Second Annual Juried Student Photography Exhibition this spring. There will be an opening celebration and awards ceremony for the exhibit on Thursday, April 11 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Life Sciences Building Atrium Gallery (located on the second floor).

“The photography show is part of a greater effort to include more art on campus,” said Douglas McCambridge, a DelVal media and communication instructor. “Our students are producing high-quality work in our photography classes and we’re pleased to be able to share this work with an annual event that will enrich the local community.”

Jurying this year's exhibit will be Walter Plotnick and Stephanie Lisle. First, second and third prizes will be awarded at the opening.

Plotnick is a photo-based artist, educator, and curator. He earned his BFA from Tyler School of Art and his MFA from The University of the Arts. Plotnick is a senior lecturer of fine arts at Montgomery County Community College. He has exhibited his work internationally including solo shows in Belgium and Poland. His work is also in the permanent collection at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and is currently on display at Aperture Gallery in New York City.

Lisle has 20 years of experience behind the camera. She left the world of creating photographs to support the art of photography by opening The Bucks County Project Gallery. She is an independent curator who organizes art events and exhibitions throughout Bucks County. Lisle is a past board member of the Arts and Cultural Council of Bucks County as well as a current board member of Discover Doylestown.

The exhibit will run through June 28. To learn more about Arts on Campus events, please visit delval.edu/artsoncampus.
