Upcoming Christmas Events in Doylestown

Historic Doylestown is home to many Christmas events that span a variety of formats and activities, giving Delaware Valley University students numerous exciting and fun possibilities to celebrate the holiday season.

These events are a great way to get off campus and into the Doylestown area for a festive and relaxing time. If you’re looking for some upcoming Christmas events in Doylestown, continue reading to learn more about the holiday events that you should mark on your calendar.

Under the Tree: A Century of Holiday Trees and Toys at the Mercer Museum
At the Mercer Museum’s Under the Tree exhibit, running now through January 3, 2016, DelVal students can experience the nostalgia of being a young child and opening presents under the tree at Christmas morning. 

This exhibit features a number of historically decorated trees and gifts spanning centuries past. Historically accurate ornaments and decorations will make you feel as if you’re experiencing Christmas in a much earlier time. For history buffs and Christmas enthusiasts, this is the perfect way to see how the holiday has evolved throughout the ages.

You can find the Under the Tree Exhibit at the Mercer Museum, 84 South Pine Street in Doylestown.

Winter Wonderland: Holiday Decorations at Fonthill Castle
Fonthill Castle is a beautiful structure that people can tour regularly to see what life was like in historic Doylestown. But during the holiday season, the castle is filled with Christmas decorations and ornaments. 

From December 5, 2015, to January 3, 2016, DelVal students can marvel at themed Christmas trees and Victorian-style decorations throughout the castle as they take a tour and experience a true winter wonderland. At a cost of only $14, you can experience Fonthill Castle in its holiday splendor, which is a great way to get into the Christmas spirit. 

You can stop by Fonthill Castle’s Winter Wonderland at East Court Street and Route 313 in Doylestown.

Cookie Bake Off and Book Signing with Ellen Stimson – December 11, 6:30 p.m.
DelVal students who pride themselves on their baking skills can put their recipes to the test at the Doylestown Bookshop this holiday season. The holiday cookie contest on Friday, December 11 isn’t only the best place in Doylestown to grab some delicious cookies but also a chance to elevate your baking status to an awarded level. Plus Ellen Stimson will be on site and signing copies of her new cookbook, An Old Fashioned Christmas

DelVal students who are bakers, need some Christmas cookie recipes, or are looking for a great Christmas gift, make sure that you visit the Doylestown Bookshop for the Cookie Bake Off and Book Signing.
