3 Ways the Residence Halls at DelVal Focus on your Comfort

Posted on October 15, 2015 by Delaware Valley University.

For incoming Delaware Valley University students, adjusting to living in a residence hall can take some time. But here at DelVal, we work to give our students the most comfortable living environment possible as soon as you move into your new residence hall.

An adequate residence hall that caters to you is a huge factor when making your decision on a new college or university. To help you feel right at home, DelVal has incorporated several exceptional residence hall qualities. Read on to learn three ways that the residence halls at DelVal focus on your comfort.

1. Pet Friendly
On the second floor of the Samuel Hall residence hall at DelVal, students have the opportunity to live with their pets. Eighteen students have already taken advantage of this perk, and Samuel Hall is now home to rabbits and hamsters, among other animal friends.

Students have praised this initiative, as it works as a stress reliever from a long day of classes and helps you to feel more at home with your pet beside you.

If you would like the opportunity to do this, DelVal understands and can accommodate this preference with a room on the second floor of Samuel Hall.

2. TV Lounges and Computer Rooms
All nine of the residence halls at DelVal are equipped with TV lounges. While Work Hall doesn’t have a computer lounge, it does have a 55-inch TV on the first floor, plus Centennial Hall has a mini movie theater.

You can find these amenities in DelVal residence halls to give our students opportunities to relax and unwind. The computer labs in our residence halls provide access to the DelVal server and double as a great place to study.

3. Laundry Rooms
More than half of the DelVal dorms have at least one laundry room with multiple washing and drying machines for the sake of convenience for our students. Some residence halls, such as South Hall, have washing machines on every floor so you don’t have to go out of your way to get to one.

Lugging around your dirty laundry to public machines is a nuisance, and waiting for your clothes to wash and dry is even more time consuming. Here at DelVal, you can walk to the laundry machines in your residence hall and wait for your clothes to dry from the comfort of your room.

Comfort in your residence hall is important here at DelVal, as you’ll be spending the majority of your time here during your college career. While we can’t duplicate the warm feeling of home, we do our best to accommodate you and see to it that your needs are met and you have what you need to stay comfortable during your time on campus.
