The Joseph Krauskopf Memorial Library
The Joseph Krauskopf Memorial Library plays a central role in helping DelVal achieve its mission of providing students with a quality education in high-science agriculture, the biological and physical sciences, the social and information sciences, and liberal arts and business.
At this campus library, students have access to all of the necessary tools to complete their projects and papers as well as study for exams. Research tools such as a research guide, databases by major and the book catalog are available to all students as well as interlibrary loan, book and DVD suggestions and classroom instruction.
On-Campus Train Station
The SEPTA Doylestown/Lansdale Line allows students to quickly access Philadelphia, New York City, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Hershey, Pennsylvania, and the Jersey Shore. With public transportation available near campus, students can easily explore the areas around them, learn about new places and become familiar with other states.
Pet-Friendly Residence Halls
DelVal rolled out an all-new pet-friendly residence hall program during the 2014-15 academic year. This program allows students to have small pets in specific residence halls. About 18 students have taken advantage of this policy so far, and the program is expanding.
Students worked with faculty and staff to develop a pet-friendly policy that would benefit both students and animals. They researched what other schools were doing and consulted animal welfare groups before launching the program.
Students are informed of the pet-friendly residence halls in case they have any allergies.
Clubs and Organizations
While it’s common for universities to offer clubs and organizations for students to participate in, DelVal goes above and beyond by offering more than 70 student clubs, organizations and Greek chapters. The wide variety of activity ensures there are groups for every student.
There are many clubs that deal with animals, nature and agriculture, such as the Animal Science Society, the Dairy Society, Ducks Unlimited, Future Farmers of America and Horticulture Society.
If you like to play sports and be active, DelVal has many sports clubs, including a dance team, an intercollegiate equestrian team, men’s and women’s lacrosse, a rock climbing club, a skiing and outdoor club, a tennis club and a vaulting team.
When you’re choosing a college or university, it’s important to decide on a school that has adequate career services to help you get a job after graduation. DelVal’s Center for Student Professional Development helps students with career development and exploration, résumés, cover letters, job and internship searches, interviewing and preparing for graduate school.
