During my junior year at Delaware Valley University, I heard about the opportunity to participate in a study abroad program during spring break. As a student who would not be an ideal match for a full semester abroad, I was intrigued by the opportunity to participate in a shorter-term study abroad program. After attending a few informational meetings about the program, I decided to sign up for the trip. During spring break, 20 classmates from DelVal and myself spent eight days in Denmark. I stayed with a host family, attended classes, toured landmarks and cities and met many new people from my own school and in Denmark.

We left USA at 4 p.m. Now, it’s 5 p.m. the next day. I have been up for more than 36 hours straight due to time changes. Flying on the plane was amazing. The take off was like a roller coaster. When we landed in Denmark, we got our luggage and then went out to meet our host families. Mine wasn't there, another host was there to take me to my host's house. So now I’m in Denmark, in a stranger’s car, driving to McDonalds. It’s crazy, it’s exciting and I love it! I finally got to meet my host and her mom. They are both very nice. Their house is very modern looking and uncluttered with a lot of open space.
