An adventure in conservation

I have lived in six states, moved nine times, and driven to all corners of the country. I've worked for nonprofits, government organizations and a university. While these may seem like signs of an unstable, uncommitted life, it is all part of an exciting career that started at Delaware Valley College.


The importance of thank you

A wise man once told me, “none of us is promised anything in life.”

I’ll go one step further and add, “So we must be thankful for every opportunity.”

Not only should we be thankful, we need to express it. In this day of technology and social media, there are fewer opportunities for personal interactions if you don’t make a point of doing it. Often it’s easier to send a quick text that says “thnx!” Thank you notes in your personal life are just good manners. They show the type of character you have. And they make the other person feel good. Who doesn’t want to be responsible for adding a little joy to someone’s day?


Networking in college

It seems like everyone is talking about networking lately – and for good reason.  According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, 70% of jobs are found through networking.  The number might be even higher for internship opportunities since many employers create internship positions to help a student gain experience (especially a student they know)
