Q & A with Alison Teter ’18 counseling psychology, small animal science minor

When applying for colleges, what made you interested in DelVal?
My favorite teacher is an alumna of DelVal, and she even brought our animal science class to campus on a field trip to take a tour through the labs. DelVal offered what I could not find at other colleges: an opportunity for me to study in both of my fields of interest and an appreciation for learning through experience.

What is your favorite part about participating in student research at DelVal?
My favorite part about participating in student research at DelVal is the opportunity to work with my professors outside of class and further develop a professional relationship with them.

How does participation in student research enhance your college experience?
Student research takes the concepts and skills that I am learning in classes and puts them to practice. I get to dig deeper into the specific area that I am interested in and I get to direct my research in the direction I want to go.

What do you hope to do after college?
I hope to move on to graduate school to further my schooling and become a licensed therapist before going into the work field.
