The Dressage Team is part of the Intercollegiate Dressage Association (IDA) and competes in competitions throughout the school year. The Dressage Team is dedicated to inspiring and improving all levels of Dressage riders. The Dressage Team is open to all full time students of the University, practices on Wednesday nights and has several shows every semester. The team will also participate in A-Day, fundraisers, and other club activities.

Head Coach-Angelo Telatin
Angelo is an assistant professor in the Department of Equine Science and Management at Delaware Valley University where he teaches a variety of courses from equine behavior to horseback riding and training. He has a M.S. in education and obtained a master’s degree “Laurea” from the University of Padua. For his final thesis in equine behavior he explored, “The Comparison between Equine Training Techniques and the Psychology of Learning.”
Paired with his academic expertise, he has been a horseback riding coach since 1996 when he received his first riding instructors’ certificate from the Italian federation. He has since continued to progress through the levels of instructor certification, with perhaps the most important recognition received when he passed the Fellow of the British Horse Society exam in 2010. His unique life experiences have allowed him to fuse the academic discoveries in animal training and learning with horse training techniques, all of which have earned him popularity as a clinician in Europe and the United States.
Telatin has personally won and coached many students to win numerous championships in show jumping. He is the head coach for the Delaware Valley University Intercollegiate Dressage Team (IDA) and he prepares riders for regional and national competitions where they have won many individual and team medals. His most recent accomplishments include an IDA Reserve National Championship Team and Individual Championship. He continues to compete in Dressage and A rated Show Jumping competition.
Assistant Coach-Breann DePietro
Breann joined DelVal as faculty in the spring of 2007. With years of experience in the industry, she managed a dressage boarding and training facility before becoming a faculty member at DelVal. She serves as the Assistant Coach for the college’s Intercollegiate Dressage team and is the IDA Region C Regional Representative and Rules Committee Member.
As a member of the esteemed British Horse Society, she holds her BHSAI/International Instructor Level 1 Certifications. In 2011, she earned her United States Dressage Federation (USDF) Bronze Medal aboard two of the College’s horses. She is a graduate of the USDF Learner Judge’s Program, and participates in equine conferences and lectures to maintain her professional development. DePietro brings to her lessons a passion for teaching that provides her students with enthusiasm and positive reinforcement.
