Housing FAQ
What's in a Room?
The following items are found in every room:
How does the Room Selection Process work for New Students?
Students must fill out the Housing Profile Form during Orientation in June. The Residence Life staff begins by matching students based upon the information provided on the Housing Profile Form. Once this has been completed, housing assignment and roommate contacct information is mailed home in mid-July. |
How do we match roommates?
Students are matched based on their responses on the housing profile form. Roommate matching is not an exact science; we do our best to place students together. If students are requesting a specific roommate, they should do so at the time that they are filling out the Housing Profile Form. |
What is the College's stance on smoking, alcohol, and other drugs?
All residence halls are smoke-free. All freshman halls have a zero tolerance policy on drugs and alcohol. |
What if I have Special Needs?
Students requiring special housing needs, due to health and wellness conditions, need to notify the Office of Residence Life prior to June Orientation. |
What if I am a Transfer Student?
We ask that all transfer students fill out the Housing Profile Form. Every attempt will be made to place you in upper-class facilities. If space becomes limited, we will place you in freshman facilities with another transfer or returning students. Once room becomes available we will move you from your room in freshman housing into upper-class facilities. |
What was the Micro-Fridge thing that I saw in student's rooms during my tour?
Delaware Valley College supplies a Micro-Fridge Unit in every residence hall room. Students may not bring a microwave or refrigerator with them when they arrive at school. This applies to transfer and returning students. You may still be wondering what is the benefit of a Micro-Fridge Unit; well, this unit combines a microwave, a refrigerator and a freezer into one unit. This unit uses less electricity than all three separately, while also taking up less space. |
Is there a phone in my room?
Yes, all student rooms are equipped with a phone. Your phone number will be provided to you when you receive your Housing Assignment. |
Can I bring my computer with me?
Yes, all rooms are equipped with ethernet jacks and wireless internet that will allow students to have access to the campus network. For specifications and questions regarding Information Services, please contact the Help Desk at 215-489-2342. |
