Public Safety

R.A.D.

The RAD System Objective is to develop and enhance the options of self defense so they may become a viable consideration to the woman who is attacked. RAD means "rape agression defence."

Delaware Valley College offers a free Rape Aggression Defense class once a semester to female students, employees and friends of students and employees only. This 15-hour class, consisting of approximately 12 to 15 women, is designed to make women more aware of their surroundings and empower them through self-defense. Classes are usually offered during October, February and once during the summer. Classes are advertised on WDVC TV and flyers that are placed in resident halls and public bulletin boards.

For more information on the Rape Aggression Defense Program contact Lt. A.L. Caesar Jr. (Arthur.Caesar@delval.edu) at the Public Safety and Security Department at (215) 489-2315.
