Jazz Band

The Delaware Valley College Jazz Band, under the direction of Dr. Jack Schmidt, was founded in 2003. Talented members of the DelVal Concert Band are invited to audition for the Jazz Band and are selected by the director. The 20-member ensemble performs concerts throughout the school year, both on the DelVal campus and in the surrounding community.

Repertory consists of jazz standards by composers such as Duke Ellington, George Gershwin, Harold Arlen, Dizzie Gillespie and Stan Kenton, as well as contemporary jazz favorites. The ensemble meets on Tuesday evenings from 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
