Susan (Susy) has had extensive equine, academic and teaching experience. While at Michigan State, she completed undergraduate research in horse behavior and graduate research in equine nutrition. She also coached the Michigan State Hunt Seat and Western Equestrian Teams, was president of the Horseman’s Association, was a horsemanship instructor at the Michigan State University Equine Center, was an undergraduate research supervisor and a laboratory instructor for Introduction to Animal Agriculture courses. She represented Michigan State University’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources in their Study Abroad Program touring in Ireland, Scotland and England. She has several publications in local, regional and national equine journals. Susan is active in professional activities on and off campus, including the United States Equestrian Federation and the United States Eventing Association.
