Large Animal Science - About the Department

As an animal scientist, your future is limitless and diverse. The Animal Science department helps prepare you for a variety of entry-level positions in production agriculture, agribusiness and allied industries. If you are thinking of going on to vet school, an Animal Science degree helps you develop a comprehensive understanding of biological and physical sciences for all types of large animals. While at DelVal, you can study physiology and genetics, including in-vitro fertilization, or you can study nutrition and management that could lead to a career in animal production. Our equine and livestock facilities give you an opportunity to actively participate in the care, breeding and management of beef cattle, sheep, swine and horses.
