FINANCIAL AID COUNSELOR – (051612/54000/30) – This full-time position is essential for ensuring students are well-informed about the financial aid process at Delaware Valley College.  Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to processing financial aid for graduate, undergraduate, prospective and transfer students according to federal guidelines; determining students financial aid needs and preparing packages accordingly; meeting with students and families, undergraduate and graduate, to counsel on financial aid; performing accurate needs analysis, identifying discrepancies in data and determining actions for resolution; assisting in verification of all CPS and institutionally-selected financial aid applicants; interacting regularly with internal offices including the Bursar and Registrar office; conducting informational sessions with students regarding financial aid eligibility, awards, and options; preparing reconciliation reports for key federal aid programs; processing exit interviews for students leaving school to inform them of loan obligations; working closely with internal departments to stay informed of changes in student’s enrollment statuses or changes/additions to their program study; staying current with changes in federal and state financial aid programs.

CUSTODIAN – (051012/64002/27) - Full-time position working 40 hours per week from 2:30pm to 11:00pm and includes every other weekend.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to performing all custodial duties; driving and unloading college trash truck.

ADJUNCT POSITION – The Department of Education - (042512/13003/18) seeks part-time instructors for the Fall 2012 semester to teach College Reading, Methods of Teaching Science, Methods of Teaching Agriculture, and Methods of Teaching Social Studies.  Classes for College Reading meet during the day, while the Methods courses meet in the late afternoon/early evening.  Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in Education (doctorate preferred), and experience teaching at the college level.

ADJUNCT POSITION – The Department of Natural Resources and Biosystems Management - (042512/10007/17) seeks part-time instructors for the Fall 2012 semester to teach the laboratory portion of the course, Feed Grains & Forages.  Candidates with a Master’s degree in Agronomy or Animal Science are preferred.  However, candidates with a Bachelor’s degree plus several years of forage production experience or training will be considered.  Laboratories meet during the day.  Demonstrated experience teaching at the college level or experience educating agricultural personnel is a major plus.

AREA COORDINATOR – (032212/52000/14) – This is a full-time, 12 month, live-in position with a start date of July 2, 2012 and is an integral part of the Residence Life Team and the Division of Student Affairs.  The primary responsibilities are assisting with creating and maintaining a positive, student-centered community within the residence halls.  This includes the establishment of programs and services which foster respect, dignity, collegiality, and civility among residential students, in unison with the ethics and spirit of the College’s mission.  Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to managing the day-to-day operations of residence halls; supervising as many as 12 Resident Assistants within a residential area of up to 300 students; overseeing residential programming; providing conflict resolution/crisis management; serving as a judicial hearing officer; serving in the campus on-call duty rotation; establishing appropriate relationships with residents, staff, and faculty; serving in department and campus-wide committees; secondary administrative assignment within the Residence Life office such as housing facilities and assignments, judicial coordination, RA selection, training and development or programming and educational initiatives.

Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s strongly preferred) and two years experience in residence life/student affairs, or related field.  Additional requirements include experience with staff supervision and general residence hall management; proficient in Microsoft Office.  Experience with Datatel (data management) is preferred.  Background check required.  Candidates must submit at least 3 professional references with their resume and cover letter.

PART-TIME/ON-CALL BUS DRIVER – (032212/64030/13) – Responsibilities include but are not limited to safely transporting students, faculty, staff, and community to and from events as well as waiting at events; cleaning bus and van fleet; notifying supervisor of any mechanical issues.

Position requires High School Diploma plus prior bus driving experience of 1-3 years with CDL Class B license with passenger and airbrake endorsement.  Additional requirements include safe/good driving skills; defensive driving skills; must be alert to ensure safe transportation; ability to closely monitor one’s energy level; must maintain a safe driving record.  Background and motor vehicle check required. Position involves flexible and alternative work schedule, including evening and weekends.

TEACHER INTERN CERTIFICATION FIELDWORK COORDINATOR – (031412/17003/12) – This position is primarily responsible for designing, implementing, and supervising all aspects of the intern/student teacher’s TCIP experience.  Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to scheduling fieldwork and student teaching assignments for students; conducting orientation and professional development opportunities for fieldwork supervisors; developing and distributing fieldwork materials and conducting fieldwork site visits; developing schedules and evaluation methods for fieldwork observers/supervisors; maintaining students’ fieldwork files; liaison with district contacts; establishing and maintaining new district placement locations for fieldwork experience; establishing and maintaining new district placement locations for fieldwork experience; designing, implementing, and monitoring PDE fieldwork policies and procedures.

DIRECTOR OF FACILITIES MANAGEMENT – (021012/64001/10) – Responsibilities include but are not limited to managing the overall operations of the Facilities Management Department such as the performance of maintenance and custodial tasks; use and purchase of all utilities; evaluating and insuring the efficient operation of the department prudently controlling operation expenses while using consistent and sound maintenance practices;  providing technical direction and supervision to department staff in developing and completing work assignments; discussing, planning and delegating critical project assignments to supervisory staff and determining building and maintenance priorities and operations that are of significant scope;  in consultation with the Vice President of Finance makes recommendations concerning the hiring, promotion and termination of plant staff; advising, discussing and informing officers, deans, department heads and staff members on Facilities Management matters, problem areas, and plans; insuring proper upkeep of facilities which includes heating, ventilation, lighting, cleanliness, sanitation, general appearance of buildings and grounds, snow removal, transportation, events and emergency situations affecting the campus; reviewing present Preventative Maintenance program and updating as needed; coordinating the administration of contracted services for maintenance, operations, repair and other services affecting facilities, equipment and furnishings; preparing the annual budget for Facilities, Transportation, and Events.

Position requires BS in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management, and 5 years of supervisory/management experience in construction, equipment, maintenance, repair, safety or related areas or fifteen (15) years of supervisory/management experience in the construction, equipment, maintenance and repair, safety or related areas.  Additional requirements include:  ability to plan, organize, coordinate, direct, and control all aspects of Facilities Management activities; ability to work with management systems and variety of skilled/unskilled, professional, administrative, and industry personnel; basic knowledge of office administration, plant management, reporting, budgeting and control, and business operations; knowledge of terms, nature of related trades, blueprints, buildings, grounds, equipment, housekeeping, construction, repair maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, fire, safety management, BOCA & OSHA codes, and related matters in higher education; ability to understand and follow oral and written instruction and to express ideas effectively orally and in writing; willingness to be accessible and available to the college to insure proper management and operation of plant activities.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, CENTER FOR STUDENT EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING AND CAREER SERVICES –– (121611/53004/53) – This position reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:  Manage the Center for Student Experiential Learning and Career Services (CSELCS) by leading strategic planning, program development and evaluation initiatives within the CSELCS.  Ensure a comprehensive, developmental experiential learning program by supporting staff in providing learning opportunities and resources through a variety of campus venues.   Advance the Center for Student Experiential Learning and Career Services overall through interaction with the CSELCS multiple constituencies.  In collaboration with the Deans, Chairs, Faculty Advisors and Faculty create and expand experiential learning and career placement opportunities for each major across all Activities (Study Abroad, Internships/Student Teaching, Career Exploration Experience, Experiential/Service Learning Courses and Undergraduate Research).  Mentor, manage and supervise CSELCS staff, including program planning, establishment of professional development goals and performance evaluation.  Work collaboratively with Academic Affairs to develop, oversee and report on CSELCS budgets.  Provide leadership and direction for the Career Services program within the CSELCS.

Position requires a Master’s Degree in experiential learning, education, career development, business or related discipline.  Additional work reinforcing professional growth in the field of experiential learning is also required.  At least five years of experience in a leadership role in a college or university setting, in experiential learning, career services or relevant academic advising program required.  Program development, program management and supervisory experience required.

The TCIP is an adult cohort program that provides an alternate method to teaching certification as provided by the Pa. Department of Education. The program admits qualified students who already possess a bachelor’s degree in a content area in which the college is permitted to certify (Agriculture, Business/Information Technology, Biology, Chemistry, English, General Science, and Social Studies) to blend their undergraduate degree with 6 undergraduate courses in education.

Duties include but are not limited to classroom teaching and mentoring of adult students with Bachelor's degrees. All courses meet two evenings a week, 6-9PM for a period of 6 weeks. Courses include: American Education, Educational Psychology, Instructional Methods and Assessments, Literacy in the Content Area Classroom, ELL and the Multicultural Classroom, and Differentiated Instruction in the Inclusive Classroom.

PART-TIME TEACHER CERTIFICATION INTERNSHIP PROGRAM (TCIP) SUPERVISORS/OBSERVERS – (110210/18202/49) - Delaware Valley College is expanding its Teacher Certification Internship Program (TCIP) to Central Pennsylvania at Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC). It is expected that the supervisor will meet with the intern to provide suggestions regarding student learning and teaching strategies, review portfolio materials, and offer guidance for improvement of instruction and classroom management. This position is a part-time day position.
