Special Requirements

To defray the additional costs of the Equine Studies program, a Stable Fee will be assessed every semester.

  • Saddles
  • Bridles
  • Pads
  • Girths
  • Harnesses
  • Carriages
  • Lungeing and training equipment.

Student Required Equipment

  • Riding boots
  • Breeches
  • ASTM-SEI approved riding helmet
  • Gloves
  • Jumping Bat and Dressage Whip
  • Two sets of polo wraps, black and/or white in color

Special Requirements for Admission

Admission to our program is highly competitive. Early application is strongly suggested. Prior experience riding and working with horses is required. Students must be capable of cantering a strange horse in a group of riders and must submit a professional reference from a work or volunteer position. To perform stable chores, students must be capable of lifting 40-50 pounds. A moderate degree of physical fitness and personal discipline is expected for reasons of safety and preparedness.
