Elizabeth Kolar is assistant professor of business and a certified public accountant at Delaware Valley College.
In 2008, Professor Kolar was named Outstanding Educator of the Year by the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants PICPA which recognizes full-time Pennsylvania college and university accounting educators who have distinguished themselves in the classroom setting and are actively involved in the accounting profession. In addition to her in-class support of students, she conducts mock interview for accounting majors, serves as a faculty advisor to the student chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) and places Delaware Valley college students in internships and full-time positions nationally. Also in 2008, Professor Kolar received the Distinguished Faculty Member of the Year Award from the Delaware Valley College community.
Since joining the faculty in 2004, she has coordinated the College's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program which provides free tax preparation assistance to low income families and served on the Farm Market Operations and Task Force committee.
Professor Kolar is a member of American Accounting Association and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. She is a member of PICPA and serves on the Relations with Colleges and Universities, the Speakers Bureau, the Emerging CPA's and the Lifestyles and Family Issues committees. She is also a member of the American Society of Women Accountants and chairs the Student Night Committee.
She has held teaching positions at Bucks County Community College and Seton Hall and Pace universities. Prior to her teaching career, Kolar was a senior auditor with Coopers and Lybrand in New York. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in public accounting from Pace University.
