Dr. Bashar W. Hanna
Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty

Dr. Hanna is the College’s Chief Academic Officer and in this capacity he oversees all aspects of the academic affairs division, including but not limited to:  curricular matters, new program development, faculty professional development, program reviews, accreditation processes, outcomes assessment and academic strategic planning.

Prior to his appointment at DelVal, Dr. Hanna served as Associate Provost at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York. Prior to that position, he served as Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Kutztown University of Pennsylvania, where he also served as Interim Provost.  Prior to his Tenure at Kutztown, Dr. Hanna served as Founding Dean of Academic Affairs at DeVry University – Pennsylvania.    Before joining DeVry, Dr. Hanna served his alma mater, Temple University, in various capacities.  When he left Temple, in 2002 he was Associate Dean of the College of Science and Technology.

Dr. Hanna has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in Biology, Cell Biology, Neurobiology, Gerontology, Biotechnology, Mathematics and Bio-Ethics.

Dr. Hanna is President-elect of the American Association of University Administrators.  He also serves on the Board of Directors of ACE – Access to College Education in Central New York.

Bashar lives in Buckingham, PA., with his wife Deanna and two children Christian, 12 and Lauren, 8.  The family enjoys playing and watching soccer together.

Dr. Benjamin E. Rusiloski
Dean of Business, Education, Arts and Sciences

Dr. Benjamin E. Rusiloski serves as Delaware Valley College's Dean of Business, Education, Arts and Sciences. Dr. Rusiloski is responsible for overseeing all academic-related matters, including program development, evaluation, faculty development, strategic planning and budgeting, for the Business, Education and Arts and Sciences departments at DelVal.

Dr. Rusiloski has been a member of the DelVal faculty since 1994, when he joined as an assistant professor of chemistry. Since then, he has earned tenure and the title of professor and has chaired the Chemistry, Biochemistry, Mathematics and Physics departments. Among his service credits to Delaware Valley College, Dr. Rusiloski is a member of the College’s Faculty Council, the Academic Standards Committee, the Curriculum Committee and the New Faculty Orientation Committee. He has served on the President’s Strategic Planning Committee and was Chair of the Faculty Work Team when the College conducted a Middle States Accreditation Review from 2001 through 2003. Dr. Rusiloski presents and lectures frequently at workshops and other colleges and has written and/or reviewed chapters in numerous chemistry textbooks. Dr. Rusiloski has received the Student Government Faculty Service Award from DelVal’s student government association in 1998 and again in 2005, the William Allison Award for Outstanding Service to the Student Body at DelVal, the Ruth and Joel Spira Teaching Award for Excellence in Teaching and Mentoring at DelVal, the Delaware Valley College Distinguished Faculty Member Award and has held the Sarah and David Levin Chair. He has also earned King’s College “Leo Award,” an alumni award given for outstanding achievement, and the Harleysville National Bank and Trust Company Great Professorship Award.

Dr. Rusiloski graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, American Chemical Society certified, from King’s College. He earned his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Duke University.

Russell Redding
Dean of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences

Russell Redding serves as Delaware Valley College's Dean of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. He is responsible for leadership and oversight for all academic related matters including program development, evaluation, faculty development, strategic planning and budgeting in the agronomy and environmental sciences, dairy science, large animal science, equine studies, horticulture, ornamental horticulture and environmental design, agribusiness, food science and management, and animal biotechnology and conservation program areas. He also has administrative oversight of the agricultural production units of the college, including the horticulture production farm, the dairy and livestock farms and the Roth Farm, the college's living museum and farm.

In February 2011, Russell Redding was appointed dean of agriculture and environmental sciences at Delaware Valley College.

Prior to his arrival, he served as Pennsylvania’s secretary of agriculture. He was nominated by Gov. Rendell in September 2009, and was confirmed by the Senate on Dec. 16, 2009. He previously served as Executive Deputy Secretary for the Department.

Dean Redding has innate understanding of production agriculture, stemming from his youth on his family’s dairy farm in Gettysburg and his time as a dairy farm operator with his wife, Nina.

As agriculture secretary, he oversaw the day-to-day management of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, which is responsible for issues related to Pennsylvania's number one industry. A part of the Department’s leadership team since 1995, he previously provided oversight and guidance to Bureaus as a Deputy Secretary.

Dean Redding also has extensive experience as a public servant, having spent more than 20 years serving Pennsylvania in Harrisburg and in Washington D.C. Through his work as the Vocational Student Organization Coordinator with the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Dean Redding provided leadership to the Pennsylvania FFA Association.

As a member of the Department of Labor & Industry’s executive staff, Dean Redding helped shape policies that kept Pennsylvania businesses thriving and bolstered the state’s workforce.

Expanding his service to Pennsylvania beyond the state’s borders, Dean Redding served as Agricultural Policy Advisor and Executive Assistant to United States Senator Harris Wofford. In this role, he provided leadership to the agriculture industry for the state and the nation, and was able to support Pennsylvanians on critical issues such as community and economic development, volunteerism/community service and national agriculture policies.

Dean Redding is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, having earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Agriculture and Extension Education. In 2005, he was named an Outstanding Alum by the university. Dean Redding was also a Pennsylvania State FFA Officer, serving as Vice President for the agricultural education organization. In recognition of his support, Dean Redding has been awarded the Honorary Keystone Degree and the Honorary American Degree. In 2009, the Pennsylvania FFA Association recognized him for his 30 years of committed service to the organization.

Dean Redding, his wife Nina and sons Garrison and Elliot reside in Adams County, where the family is active in the Upper Adams 4-H Club.
