  • The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) - Contains information on numerous mental health conditions including depression and anxiety disorders. The NIMH mission is to reduce the burden of mental illness and behavioral disorders through research on mind, brain, and behavior.

  • The Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) - 1-800-656-HOPE. RAINN is the nation's largest anti-sexual assault organization. It operates the National Sexual Assault Hotline and carries out programs to prevent sexual assault, help victims and ensure that rapists are brought to justice.
  • Survivors of Incest Anonymous - 215-925-4002. Support group for adult survivors of incest. No fee.
  • Incest Survivors Anonymous - 215-848-3830. Support group for adult survivors of incest. No fee.

Safety alert: Your abuser may monitor your internet use and may be able to view your computer activity. If you have reason to believe that your computer is not secure, you may wish to use a computer in another location that your abuser does not have access to.

  • National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) - 1-800-931-2237. Information on eating and body image concerns as well as treatment referrals can be found here. NEDA is dedicated to expanding public understanding of eating disorders and promoting access to quality treatment for those affected along with support for their families through education, advocacy and research.

  • The Rainbow Room - 215-348-0558 x 65. The Rainbow Room strives to provide a supportive and empowering environment for LGBTQ youth and allies to come together for social, educational and recreational activities. For individuals between the ages of 14 through 21. Call if over 21.
  • Gay & Lesbian Peer Counseling Services - 215-732-TALK (8255). Free counseling service for people coming out, relationship problems, abusive situations, or any emotional situation. Available Monday through Friday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm.
  • QueerAmerica is a database published by OutProud, The National Coalition for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Youth. It includes information on community centers, support organizations, and more. These can be great places to meet friends, get questions answered, or find support.
