Vail Garvin Unterberger
Executive Director of the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce

Dr. Garvin has served as Executive Director of the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce since 2000. Prior to her position at CBCC, she served as the President of Executive Healthcare Consultants, Inc. from 1997-2000, and as Senior Vice President of Corporate & Public Affairs at Independence Blue Cross from 1987-1997.

With extensive experience as a senior level healthcare executive and a business administrator with a strong record of initiative and leadership in meeting the diverse needs of the industry and the diverse constituencies it serves, she is highly recognized for successful experience in healthcare operations and management. Vail has broad based skills in strategic planning, marketing and in translating visionary healthcare strategies into innovative programs and services.

Dr. Garvin received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at Emory University and earned her Doctorate in Public Administration at Nova University. She is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Dr. Garvin is an active member and participant in a broad spectrum of non-profit, professional and advocacy organizations and associations. Among these are Trustee of the Naval War College Foundation in Newport, R.I., Independence Blue Cross Board of Directors, Doylestown Historical Society Board of Directors and the Heritage Conservancy Board of Directors.

Recipient of numerous awards, she has received White House recognition for an exceptional level of commitment to numerous civic, charitable and community endeavors. Among the professional honors she has received are: Business Woman of the Year: March of Dimes, Salute to Women Explorers "Summit Award," Business Philadelphia: "100 People to Watch," and Lifetime Achievement Award: Humanitarian of the Year from the Central Bucks Chamber of Commerce.
