Biography

Steve Chadwick is the Owner and President of Rhyfel, Inc., a company that sells surgical products to the federal government. He is the former executive chairman of Prodesco Inc and Secant Medical LLC, a company he served for twenty years.

Admiral Chadwick joined Prodesco in 1992 as executive vice president and chief operating officer. At that time, Prodesco provided textile-based structures as mission critical components for systems used in chemical and aerospace applications. Admiral Chadwick was appointed president and CEO of Prodesco in 2001.

In 2002, he established Secant Medical as a wholly owned subsidiary using the engineering and craft capabilities resident in Prodesco to create a development and manufacturing partner for the major medical device OEMs. In the next six years, Secant became recognized as the leading provider of textile components used in the manufacture of implantable and catheter delivered medical devices. In 2008, Admiral Chadwick developed and executed a plan leading to a highly successful acquisition by Fenner PLC, a global manufacturing company traded on the London Stock Exchange. He then served as Prodesco/Secant’s managing director until his appointment as executive chairman in 2011.

Admiral Chadwick is a graduate of The United States Naval Academy. After serving for 28 years as a surface warfare officer, he transferred to the retired list in 1990 from duty as commander of all surface ships based in the mid-Pacific at Pearl Harbor. During his active duty career, Admiral Chadwick commanded two warships and a Tactical Destroyer Squadron, served on a Naval Advisory Group in Vietnam and held several major shore commands. From 1995 to 1997, he served as the 71st Commandant of Midshipmen in Annapolis. His post-graduate educational achievements include a Master of Science degree in material management and transportation management.

Admiral Chadwick’s community service has been a very important component of his post-Navy life. He is currently serving on the board of the Doylestown Hospital Foundation and the Travis Manion Foundation in Doylestown. Recent service to the community includes the Heritage Conservancy Board of Directors and the Bucks County Community College Green Jobs Advisory Committee. He was elected president of his Naval Academy class and served in that capacity from 1992 to 1997. Additionally, he was the volunteer vice president of annual giving for the Naval Academy Foundation during a period that included a highly successful $225 million capital campaign.

Admiral Chadwick and his wife Maureen have resided in Doylestown since 2000. They have three children. Daughter Elizabeth Kasemsri is a community volunteer in Lubbock, Texas and the mother of three daughters. Son Robert, a Surface Warfare officer who recently commanded the guided missile destroyer ROOSEVELT, makes his home in Jacksonville, Florida and is the father of two daughters. Son Jonathan, a Navy physician specializing in head and neck surgery, is the father of three sons and one daughter. They live in the Norfolk, Virginia area. Both sons are Naval Academy graduates.
