Bond currently resides and practices law in the Borough of Doylestown, Pa.
She established Melissa V. Bond, Attorney, as a sole proprietorship in 1981, and organized Melissa V. Bond and Associates, in 1988. From the Association, the firm of Bond & McCullough, Attorneys at Law, was formed in 1991. Prior to practicing law, Bond was employed as a real estate broker.
Bond is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She concentrates her practice in civil law, with emphasis on wills and estates, and family law. She is often appointed by State Judges to serve as legal guardian in estate matters, neutral arbitrator, and master for partition of real property. She has served two terms as chairperson for the Bucks County Bar Association, Orphans' Court Section. She was appointed by the Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to chair the trial court nominating commission for Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
Community service is an essential part of Bond's life. She has recently completed a four-year term as a Doylestown Borough councilwoman, representing Ward 3 of Doylestown Borough. Additionally, she has served on the boards of Central Bucks YMCA, Bucks County Peace Center, and Bucks County Council on Alcoholism and Drugs. She has received numerous awards and honors; Distinguished Service Award from the Bucks NAACP; National Registers of Who's Who in Executives and Professionals; and recognition for providing free legal services to disadvantaged women.
Bond grew up on a small farm in Kingstree, S.C. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University, in Greensboro, N.C., and a Juris Doctorate from North Carolina Central University, Durham, N.C. Bond is the mother of a daughter who is the 2010-2011, NALP/Street Law Program Fellow, located in Washington, D.C.
