Former Executive Director, The Fund for Public Schools


Iris is the former Executive Director of The Fund for Public Schools, where she helped to build public/private partnerships to support New York City's public schools and to ensure access to education for all of the city's students.

Prior to that, Iris was on the start-up team of Beyond Z, a new social enterprise that is working to ensure that young people from under-represented backgrounds have the opportunities and supports needed to become leaders and entrepreneurs of significance on a large scale.

Previously, Iris served as President and CEO of the "I Have a Dream" Foundation. A Teach For America charter corps member, she has held several staff roles at that organization, including Executive Director of the New York City region, National Program Director and Director of Public Affairs. She also served as a consultant at McKinsey & Company and was a Coro Fellow.

Iris graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in East Asian Studies and earned a joint J.D./M.B.A. degree from Harvard University. She is a member of the New York Bar and the New York Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Achievement First Bushwick Charter School, East Harlem Scholars Academy and The Lincoln Fund, and on the Board of Advisors of several nonprofit organizations and colleges/universities.
