Women’s Soccer Ranked Nationally for First Time in Program History

Oct 14, 2008

For the first time in program history, the Delaware Valley College women's soccer team has entered the regional rankings as the Aggies are 10th in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/adidas Division III Middle Atlantic Region.

Delaware Valley, which has sponsored a varsity sport since 1994, is off to its best start with a 9-1-1 overall record and a 3-0 mark in the Freedom Conference. The Aggies are in the midst of a seven-game unbeaten streak (6-0-1) which is one shy of the school record.

Richard Stockton College tops the regional poll with a 12-2-1 record while Messiah College (12-0-2) and Johns Hopkins University (9-0-3) round out the top three. Elizabethtown College (8-3-2), which handed Delaware Valley its only loss with a 1-0 blanking, is ranked just ahead of the Aggies in the ninth position.
Delaware Valley is on the road for its next two contests, both against Freedom Conference opponents. The Aggies travel to conference newcomer Eastern University today and will follow with a trip to Manhattanville College on Saturday, November 18.
