Sep 29, 2008
Elise Dauber scored two goals and moved into second place in a pair of Delaware Valley College all-time categories as the Aggies opened Freedom Conference play with a 5-1 triumph over visiting King's College.
Delaware Valley continued its best start in program history as the Aggies are now 6-1 overall. The Lady Monarchs fell to 1-7-1 and 0-1.
Dauber, the reigning Freedom Conference Player of the Year, upped her career totals to 45 goals and 107 points. The senior moved past 2006 graduate and former teammate Ana Mecaj (43 goals, 106 points) in both categories.
Dauber opened the scoring eight minutes off an assist from Elise Carpenter, but King's tied it 10 minutes later on a tally by Brianne Schmidt. However, junior transfer Johanna Lovallo followed with two goals in a 13-minute span to give the Aggies the lead for good. The first tally came off an assist from Dana Gentile while Carpenter set up the second goal for a 3-1 halftime lead.
Dauber struck again 11 minutes into the second stanza with Jessica Stahley getting the assist. Christine Del Turco ended the scoring with 9:42 to go. Delaware Valley held a 22-4 edge in shots. Cortney Bower made one save in the win while Rachael Donatiello had 11 saves for the Lady Monarchs.
