April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. DelVal’s chapter of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) is hosting Take Back the Night on campus Thursday, April 9 at 6 p.m. in Moumgis Auditorium, which is located in the Student Center. Take Back the Night is an international movement, which raises awareness about sexual assault, sexual abuse and domestic violence. The events are focused on breaking the silence surrounding these important issues and helping to end them. Thousands of colleges and universities, domestic violence centers and rape crisis centers have held events all over the country. The events give survivors and their communities a chance to take a stand against violence.

This year is DelVal’s first time hosting Take Back the Night. The event will include a walk through campus and a rally in Moumgis Auditorium. There will be a resource fair in the Student Center featuring AAUW, the Network of Victim Assistance, A Woman’s Place, Bucks County Against Human Trafficking, GLOW, Students for Diversity, Minority Relations Council and many other organizations. There is no charge to attend and the event is open to the public.
