Professor Jim O’Connor’s original play will be shown at the Midtown Theater Festival in New York.

Jun 17, 2010

All are invited to attend a performance of Professor Jim O'Connor's play, "Literary Dis(r)uption" at the 2010 Midtown Theater Festival in New York. The play was accepted as part of the Commercial division of the festival called the "Broadway in the Making Series." Performances are held in the 96 seat June Havoc Theatre, at 312 W. 36th St.

The play rips the cloak of intellectual naivety from the ivory tower of academic life. A college English department is forced to question their utopian world view when a new professor exposes their impressionable under belly to the ruthlessness of the con. Trust and ideals collide with the deceit of a predatory stranger.

Performances are scheduled for the following dates:

Monday 19 July 8:00 p.m.

Wednesday 21 July 6:00 p.m.

Saturday 24 July 12:30 p.m.

Thursday 29 July 8:30 p.m.

Sunday 1 August 7:30 p.m.

Buy your tickets. The festival will schedule additional performances if early response is strong, so order your tickets within the next week. The early bird price is $18. If you're interested in attending the play with a group from DelVal, please contact Leslee Blahut at 215-489-2343. We plan to organize a bus from the college.

The running time of the play is 80 minutes. The play is appropriate for ages 13 and up, so bring the entire family.
