Aug 26, 2010

Dr. Imad Benjelloun, an associate professor of mathematics and statistics, has completed the requirements to be named an American Society of Quality -- Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence.

“ASQ provides certification as a way to provide formal recognition to professionals who have demonstrated an understanding of and a commitment to quality techniques and practices in their job and career,” said ASQ President Peter Andres.

Dr. Benjelloun earned his PhD in applied mathematical and computational sciences from the University of Iowa. He also holds a master’s in quality management and productivity from The University of Iowa.

Individuals who receive this certification must meet a high standard of proficiency in and comprehension of quality management and principles. Those who are certified by ASQ often use “ASQ-CMQ/OE” on their business cards and professional correspondence.

The American Society for Quality is a professional organization that has been a leading authority on quality for more than 60 years.
