Jan 15, 2013
Start 2013 off right by learning practical strategies for creating a calmer, more balanced life. DelVal counseling psychology faculty member Dr. Audrey Ervin is offering two community workshops this month, which are open to the public.
Overcoming Procrastination: Practical Strategies for Change
When: Tuesday, Jan. 22, 6:30-8:00 p.m.
Where: Doylestown Health and Wellness Center
This applied workshop addresses the belief systems underlying procrastination including perfectionism, fear of failure, and fear of being overwhelmed. Recognizing that resistance to change often includes rationalization, impulsive behaviors, self-sabotage and escapism, participants will be provided with 10 practical strategies to overcome unhelpful procrastination behaviors. Please register online at www.dh.org or call 215-345-2121 to register.
The Superwoman Phenomenon: Women and Stress
When: Tuesday, Jan. 29, 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Where: 122 Feldman Hall, Delaware Valley College
Are you a woman who feels stressed and overwhelmed? Join psychologist Dr. Audrey Ervin for a workshop about gender role socialization and the unrealistic expectations women frequently internalize about balancing family, career and other life responsibilities (all with a smile)! Participants will develop an action plan for better life balance and leave with strategies for increased self-care.
