Distinguished Lecturer Series welcomes Dr. Robert J. Marzano

As a part of Delaware Valley College’s Distinguished Lecturer Series, the college will welcome Dr. Robert J. Marzano and his presentation of “The Art and Science of Teaching” on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
The lecture will take place in two sessions, from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and noon to 3 p.m. at Council Rock High School South.
This event is cosponsored with the Bucks County Intermediate Unit Foundation.
Marzano received a bachelor’s degree from Iona College in New York, a master’s degree from Seattle University, and a doctorate from the University of Washington.
He is the cofounder and CEO of Marzano Research Laboratory in Englewood, Colorado. Marzano serves as a researcher in education, a speaker and an author.
Marzano has written more than 30 books and 150 articles on a variety of topics including instruction, assessment, writing and implementing standards, cognition, effective leadership, and school intervention. Some of his books include Designing & Teaching Learning Goals &Objectives, The Highly Engaged Classroom, Formative Assessment & Standards-Based Grading, On Excellence in Teaching, District Leadership That Works, and The Art and Science of Teaching. His research and classroom strategies are internationally known and practiced by teachers and administrators.
The Distinguished Lecturer Series, chaired by Dr. James Moryan, Interim Dean of the School of Graduate, Pofessional and Entrepreneurial Studies, focuses on education, entrepreneurship, business, teachers, and active duty and military veterans. The Distinguished Lecturer Series provides a forum for the exchange of ideas, engaging students, teachers, and leaders in local communities, and bringing community members together to better understand key issues.
Advance registration is required for all events. Dr. Marzano’s morning session will be geared toward elementary school teachers, and his afternoon session will be geared toward secondary school teachers. To register, visit delvallecturers.com/register.
