DelVal appoints two new Board of Trustees members.

Two members of the President's Advisory Council, both from Bucks County, have been appointed to the governing board of Delaware Valley College.

At its Oct. 2 meeting, the Board of Trustees approved the selection of Michael Moss (left), a businessman and director of Team Capital Bank in Doylestown, andMichael O'Connor, president and founder of Independent Professional Services, Inc, a financial services company based in Doylestown.

Mr. Moss, along with a group of prominent business leaders in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, helped organize Team Capital Bank in 2005. The bank provides a comprehensive set of financial services, including traditional retail and commercial banking products, mortgage banking and commercial lending. 

In addition to his bank work, Mr. Moss is CEO of Intercontinental Distributing Inc., a world-wide trading company with its main office in Easton.

Mr. Moss is a member of the Delaware Valley College President's Advisory Council and the 1896 Society.   

His community work in Bucks County includes assisting with the Bucks-Mont Katrina Relief Project, which helped hurricane victims in Mississippi. In addition to continuing to rebuild homes, and following the completion of a day-care center, the Katrina project broke ground on March 13, 2007 for an animal center in Hancock County. Mr. Moss is Chairman of the animal center project. The 6,000-square-foot center will provide a haven for dogs and cats and other small pets.

Mr. Moss has a BS in marketing from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison N.J. He lives in Ottsville, Pa., with his wife, Ellen.

Mr. O'Connor, also a member of the  President's Advisory Council, started Independent Professional Services, Inc. in 1997. It is a financial service company providing back office, benefits administration and contract and vendor management services to corporate customers and professional consultants across the USA.

Mr. O'Connor also is the President and Founder of PrimeNet Enterprises Inc., a New York-based consulting firm servicing the New York regional financial services sector, and Traxis Management LLC, a Pennsylvania-based commercial real estate management company that owns and operates commercial real estate in Bucks County.

Previously, Mr. O'Connor served as a Board Member and Vice President of Newtown Business Development Association, Senior Vice President and Founder of SQL TOOLS Inc., Group Vice President of The NetPlex Group, President and Founder of Software Resources of New Jersey Inc., Programmer Analyst/Independent Contractor to Financial Institutions, and Market Analyst/Project Manager for Howard Hoffman Associates, a wholly owned real estate management subsidiary of Lehman Brothers Kuhn Lobe.

Mr. O'Connor's educational background includes the NYU Systems Analysis Program, Grumman Data Institute - Computer Programming, a Business Administration minor in Real Estate from City University of New York, Baruch College - Zicklin School of Business.

He is also an FAA Certified Air Traffic Controller and served in the US Army as a Spec 5 with tours of duty in Vietnam and Germany.

Mr. O'Connor lives in Doylestown with his wife, Barbara. The couple has three sons, Dane, Evan and Drew.
