Delaware Valley College to host A-Day April 25-27
Apr 21, 2014
Where can you tour greenhouses, see animals, check out a flower show, drink one of the best milkshakes around and more all in one weekend? At Delaware Valley College’s A-Day.
The College will open its campus up to the community for the annual student-run fair, April 25-27. Visitors can learn about a variety of topics while having a great time as a family. Admission is free, but there is a $10 charge to park. Credit cards will be accepted for general A-Day purchases except parking and some vendor displays, which will require cash.
"We have been eagerly working to host another great A-Day since the closing of last year’s event, and we are excited to see what will happen as the event unfolds this year," said Kaleb Long ’15, A-Day president.
A-Day, which stands for Activities Day, brings the campus and the surrounding community together for educational exhibits, competitions, entertainment, fun and great food. Exhibits and demonstrations involve a variety of majors. The College has been hosting A-Day since 1949 and proceeds from the event support scholarships. It is part of the Pennsylvania State Association of County Fairs. Traditional and popular events are sure to interest every member of the family. Our delicious homemade, thick milkshakes are always popular. A-Day also brings in a variety of crafters and commercial exhibits. Children are sure to learn new facts while having fun. Come and enjoy great entertainment while making memories that will last a lifetime.
The student-run event gives undergraduates a chance to practice planning and implementing a large-scale campus fair. The students coordinate with vendors, exhibits and guests to provide a popular community event each year.
