After 35 years of service to the college, Dr. Dominic Montileone has announced his retirement.

Dr. Montileone’s career at Delaware Valley College began over 35 years ago when he joined the College as an adjunct faculty member teaching business courses in Continuing Education. His expertise and academic qualifications were further recognized when he was appointed to a full time position, Assistant Professor of Business, in August 1983. Dr. Montileone was awarded tenure and promotion, rose through the ranks, and was promoted to full professor in spring 2004.
During his journey at DelVal, Dr. Montileone served in many roles and significantly advanced the College in each one of them. He was Chairperson of Business Administration, Associate Dean for Academic Administration, Dean of Arts and Sciences, and currently serves as Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Dr. Montileone has a noteworthy record of achievements at DelVal including the establishment of the Associate Business Degree Program as a Continuing Education offering and the launching of the off-site Business Degree Program at Prudential. He developed proposals and achieved PDE approval for the following programs: Supervision, Administration, and Management; Criminal Justice Administration; Education; the Master’s in Educational Leadership, and other programs and initiatives. He has served on many committees, and provided leadership for a number of College initiatives.
In the fall 2007, Dr. Montileone was selected and appointed Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs. In this role, he established a comprehensive, systems approach for outcomes assessment that is being implemented in academic affairs and addresses the requirements of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. In a special visit to DelVal, Commission team members noted the exemplary work in assessment that was achieved under Dr. Montileone’s leadership.
Dr. Montileone holds memberships in many professional organizations and remains current with many higher education issues.
