06/02/08: Dr. Ricotta a Featured Guest on NPR

Delaware Valley College's Dr. Jackie Ricotta, Associate Professor of Horticulture, served as a feature guest on the National Public Radio station WHYY's 90.9 FM show "Radio Times."

Dr. Ricotta offered her expertise on backyard gardening to the show's listeners. With rising food prices, more and more people are turning to their own gardens as a means of sustenance. Dr. Ricotta answered questions from callers about how best to start/maintain a garden, ideal times and crops for the backyard enthusiast, how to deal with garden pests and other related topics.

Dr. Ricotta teaches in DelVal's Natural Resources and Biosystems Management department at DelVal. The department offers students nine majors and countless career options.
