Dec 08, 2008

The Educational Leadership Department of Delaware Valley College is pleased to sponsor a unique program of essential diversity on Thursday, February 19 at 5:00 p.m. in the Moumgis Auditorium (formerly known as the All-Purpose Room) for professional educators and education administration.

"You Don't Know Me Until You Know Me" will be presented by Dr. Michael Fowlin from The World is My Stage Productions. In this lively program, Michael, affectionately known as Mykee, will portray characters from an ex-con to a person with disabilities and everything in between. Fowlin is reknowned for his energetic, powerful presentations; his performances have been seen by over one million attendees.

The program touces on race, gender, homophobia and other issues in ways that will not soon forgotten. Mykee portrays various ethnicities and orientations through his acting while challenging society's assumptions about differences. But Fowlin wants to do more than challenge stereotypes. "This show is more about our connections to one another, and that we're not as separate as we think we are; all our stories connect to one another in one way, shape or form."
