Located between the Levin Dining Hall, and the Feldman Building, the Joseph Krauskopf Memorial Library is a multi-purpose space for students to meet for studying, researching, and collaboration.
Library Resources
Library resources include research guides, online tutorials, and a robust collection of digital resources. The library provides access to over 200,000 eBooks and 40,000 online journals. The library also offers many services including research consultations, online and physical lending, and interlibrary loan. Interlibrary Loan requests (ILL) means the library will borrow books and articles from other libraries. This process is completely free for DelVal students, faculty, and staff. Faculty and staff services include library instruction, online tutorials, course reserves, classroom tools, research guides, and more.

The library and the President's Commission on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) have partnered to establish the Student Curator Project. The project is in alignment with the commission’s commitment to amplifying marginalized voices and building a truly diverse and inclusive library collection. By inviting the student community to be directly involved in the library's collection development, we aim to deepen our connection with the community and become part of a wider transformational dialogue for the university. Each semester, a student will be selected by the DEIB to develop a series of books on a specific subject the student is passionate about. By participating in this project, students learn and use a range of practical skills, such as poster creation, information presentation, project management, time management, and liaising.
History
Rabbi Dr. Krauskopf founded The National Farm School (now Delaware Valley University) on the principle of learning by doing in 1896. Since then, DelVal has steadily built on its reputation for personalized education and hands-on experience. He requested the library be built in his will. In 1924, the original building, consisting of the Lobby and Memorial Room, was completed. Two large wings and a lower level were added in 1969.
The Samuel Cooke Wing is to the left; the Harry Shapiro Wing is to the right. The Memorial Room contains a replica of Dr. Krauskopf s office which houses his ashes. The room displays the university’s archival photos and historical documents, detailing our history and great leaders such as Dr. Krauskopf. Learn more about the life of Dr. Krauskopf here.
