Watson Executive-in-Residence speaker Dr. Jean-Pierre Gagnon will give a talk about his international marketing career with Merck. He will share lessons and advice on how to be successful at the event.
At Merck & Co., Dr. Gagnon held several high-level positions including serving as: vice president of brand marketing for the U.S., and most recently CLO & global vice president for Global Human Health Learning & Development.
In his most recent position with Merck & Co, Dr. Gagnon ran aspects of learning, development, and performance for more than 40,000 employees working in 136 countries.
Dr. Gagnon has a bachelor’s degree in biology/ biochemistry from the Univesité de Sherbrooke in Canada, and a doctoral degree in global leadership effectiveness from The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Business School.
The presentation will be beneficial for students looking to go into business as well as the sciences.
Interacting with a Watson Executive-in-Residence offers Delaware Valley College students an opportunity to learn about current trends, ideas and emerging issues influencing the world economy in a variety of industries. In addition, students network with each Watson Executive-in-Residence, gaining perspective on the attributes necessary for success.
Thomas W. Watson, a 1957 graduate of DelVal, created the program. Watson is co-founder and vice chairman emeritus of Omnicom Group, Inc., a strategic holding company that manages a portfolio of global businesses. Watson also is dean of the company’s Omnicom University.
