Psychology: Overview

The psychology minor at Delaware Valley College prepares students for the rigors of scientific investigation in the field of psychology. The program is designed to provide adequate coursework to prepare students for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and to successfully equip students for graduate studies in psychology.

The program also allows students students majoring in fields such as Animal Science, Criminal Justice Administration, Education or Business the opportunity to develop their understanding of human behavior, thus enhancing their credentials for prospective employers or graduate admissions officers. Numerous Delaware Valley College graduates are currently working in the field of psychology, including hospital psychologists, school counselors and psychotherapists.

Any student of the college may minor in Psychology by completing 15 credit hours of courses from the following list:

  • LA2036 Introduction to Psychology (3 credits)
  • LA3034 Adolescent Psychology (3 credits)
  • LA4014 Abnormal Psychology (3 credits)
  • LA4203 Social Psychology and Human Interaction (3 credits)
  • LA2230/ED2230 Educational Psychology (3 credits)
  • MP Statistics for Research** (3 credits)
