ADJUNCT POSITION – The Department of English (072010/13002/37) seeks part-time instructors for the fall 2010 semester to teach courses in English Composition. Classes meet during the day. Candidates should possess a Master's Degree in English (Ph.D. preferred) and experience teaching at the college level.
ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR – (071610/11002/35) The position will primarily be responsible for providing overall administrative support for the Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Education Department, the Liberal Arts Department, and the Mathematics Department as well as serving as the primary point person and contact with students and outside vendors. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to answering phone calls; monitoring phones and voice mail; distributing mail; typing and formatting office communications such as letters, newsletters and electronic communications; creating and maintaining a system to store and retrieve documents; ordering supplies; delivering and retrieving documents and supplies from various points on the campus; scheduling meetings; preparing invoices and tracking expenditures as well as assisting with budgeting tasks, assisting with special projects as needed; handling confidential documents and information; supervising student and other temporary workers who assist with administrative support functions providing them with appropriate training, monitoring their work and evaluating their job performance as appropriate; obtaining registration and student information for the academic departments served; use Datatel to monitor course enrollments, run reports, generate class and grade rosters, and access individual student records for use by faculty and students; collecting syllabi from adjunct and full-time faculty (fall and spring semesters) to maintain a current file and for use with Outcomes Assessment as well as collecting and maintaining records for Outcomes Assessment, and creating reports for staff; serve as the liaison to the Registrar’s office; facilitate faculty access to Datatel for reports and student information; assisting with notifying students when faculty are absent; assisting with publicity materials, press releases, correspondence, programs, and flyers for the College’s Music, Cultural Events, and Honors Programs; maintaining systems in the Education Department that facilitate a systematic approach to Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) compliance for all programs.
Position requires High School Diploma plus 3 years experience in a fast-paced academic office atmosphere, office management experience a plus. Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Additional responsibilities include highly proficient in using computer software including Word, Excel, Datatel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and desktop publishing programs; excellent written and oral communication skills; superior organizing skills and capability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously; outstanding customer service skills; ability to supervise and train others.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF DAIRY SCIENCE – (071610/10005/34) This is a full-time, 9 month, tenure track position in the Dairy Science Department beginning spring term 2011. Responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching a broad offering of courses in dairy/animal science; remaining current in the field; recruiting and advising students as needed; posting and maintaining regular office hours; serving on faculty committees as assigned or elected; participating in professional development activities; attending regularly scheduled faculty and department meetings; assisting with department needs and development; working with other faculty members and farm managers to integrate the academic program with farm production; interacting with the public and industry professionals as needed.
Position requires Ph.D. in Dairy/Animal Science or a DVM or VMD with a Dairy/Animal Science undergraduate degree. Additional requirements include: specialization in dairy/livestock production and applied animal genetics; prior experience teaching animal science at the undergraduate level desirable; interest and ability to lecture and provide hands-on laboratory instruction; interest/potential to develop and provide online courses; excellent oral and written communication skills; commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentoring in addition to ongoing faculty development and scholarship; interest/potential for applied research engaging students.
DIRECTOR OF CORPORATE AND FOUNDATION RELATIONS – (070110/45050/32) The Director will primarily be responsible for the development of funding proposals to be submitted to foundations, corporations, government agencies and, from time to time, private individuals. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to working with a cross-section of constituents including faculty, alumni, College staff, volunteers, and government, foundation and corporate officials to gather information, develop working papers, and preparing final proposals and applications; developing stewardship strategies, and ensuring reporting and administrative requirements for awarded grants are fulfilled; developing strategies for initiating new relationships with foundations and corporations; researching funding sources such as foundations, corporations and government agencies to determine availability of funding to meet College needs; planning, implementing, writing, and managing proposal and application development for grants submitted on behalf of the College originating through the Office of Institutional Advancement; assisting faculty, as needed, in the development of faculty grant proposals; maintaining records and information in the Institutional Advancement database relating to cultivation, stewardship and reporting purposes; maintaining and continuously improving grant development and submission processes and procedures; supporting College-sponsored events by attending, as needed.
Position requires a Bachelor’s Degree with 3-5 years of direct writing experience preferably in grant and/or proposal writing. Additional requirements include: strong organizational skills with special attention to detail; outstanding writing ability for both general and technical proposals; strong oral communication skills; self-motivating; working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

SECURITY OFFICER – (070110/64050/31) - Needed for campus security to work full-time on the 4pm to 12am shift. Prior security and/or military experience preferred. Valid driver’s license, HS diploma/GED; MVR and background check plus physical and lifting test required. Internal Candidates Only.
STUDENT COUNSELOR TEMPORARY - (062510/53003/30) The Student Support Services Department seeks a temporary full-time Counselor within the Counseling Center to provide direct (individual and group) psychological services to undergraduate students on a variety of mental health issues. Additional responsibilities includes but not limited to assisting with crisis assessment and intervention as well as referrals to outside agency/psychiatrist/ therapist or Drug and Alcohol counselor when necessary; providing professional consultation with parents, faculty, staff and students as needed; creating and implementing programming designed to address needs of the campus community.
Successful candidate is required to have a Masters Degree or higher in counseling, social work, clinical psychology or a closely related field and 1 or more years of experience providing clinical mental health counseling, preferably in a counseling center or agency setting. Additional requirements include: experience in counseling students with mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, stress, peer and family relationships, bereavement, adjustment and transition, as well as academic issues; skill in assessment, case conceptualization and treatment planning; knowledge of student development and sensitivity to student diversity; excellent interpersonal, communication, administrative and organizational skills; and computer literacy.
Preferred qualifications: professional experience with an adolescent and/or young adult population; experience with issues related to a college population, such as substance abuse, trauma and domestic violence, eating disorders, identity issues, depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorders; and ability to design and implement programming for this population.

ADJUNCT POSITION - The Department of Biology (061810/110000/28) seeks part-time instructors for the fall 2010 semester to teach introductory biology (for majors and non-majors) as well as an introductory environmental science course for non-majors. ADJUNCT POSITION - The Department of Liberal Arts (061810/130300/25) seeks part-time instructors for the fall 2010 semester to teach Modern American History and Non Western Societies. Classes meet during the day. Candidates should possess a Master's Degree in History (Ph.D. preferred) and experience teaching at the college level.
NETWORK SECURITY ADMINISTRATOR - (061710/43000/24) - Responsibilities include but are not limited to researching and recommending changes, modifications, upgrades to remain abreast of security issues and proactively prevent network threats and intrusion; installing, configuring, and maintaining all network firewall protection; monitoring all firewall logs; installing, maintaining, and updating virus protection software on all servers; assisting Network Administrator on installation, configuration, and maintenance of switches and other network equipment; assisting Network Administrator with installation, maintenance, and monitoring of all Data Center servers including Windows, Microsoft Exchange, SQL, DNS, and other technologies as they arrive and deploy; diagnosing and monitoring all network traffic through the Data Center; documenting and updating the campus network topology diagram.
Position requires a BA or BS degree in related field or equivalent experience with network knowledge plus 5 or more years relevant work experience. Additionally, should possess security certifications such as CISSP, Security+ or be in the process of completing certification for one of these. Must have experience in managing firewalls such as Cisco Pix, Checkpoint and Fortinet and be familiar with intrusion detection and the relevant principles including IDS sensors installed in network areas as well as familiarity with various network security tools that can be used for vulnerability assessment and other security functions. Candidates must understand the basics of managing an enterprise anti-virus system such as Symantec, MacAfee, Trend Micro and Sophos; network design and best design practices as they regard to network security; be able to implement best practices for securing windows Servers and clients. Additional qualifications include being comfortable evaluating security solutions; understanding data security laws, regulations, and best practices; ability to configure and support an enterprise firewall and network access control (NAC) system to clients such as Sophos via client firewall and NAC client; working knowledge of the Windows Domain architecture; understanding and ability to implement best practices for securing windows Servers and clients.
LECTURER OF ANIMAL BIOTECHNOLOGY AND CONSERVATION - (061010/10007/23) - This is a full-time, 9 month, non-tenure track position in the Animal Biotechnology and Conservation Department. Responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching a broad offering of courses in animal biotechnology and conservation such as Introduction to Zoo Keeping, Wild Animals in Captivity, Exotic Animal Nutrition, Exotic Animal Health and Disease, Herpetology, and Senior Seminar; remaining current in the field; posting and maintaining regular office hours, serving on faculty committees as assigned or elected; participating in professional development activities; attending regularly scheduled faculty and department meetings.
Position requires a Masters Degree in Animal Science, Herpetology, Zoology, Biology or other related fields with outstanding work credentials. A Ph.D. in Animal Science is preferred. Experience in a zoological facility and teaching at the undergraduate level is a plus. Interest and ability to lecture, provide hands on laboratory instruction, develop online courses, and for applied research engaging students is needed. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills along with the commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentoring. An ongoing commitment and achievements in scholarship and faculty development are required.

NURSE - PART TIME - (052810/57000/20) - This is a part-time position working Monday through Friday 11am to 3pm during the academic year. Position provides health care and education for full time students attending Delaware Valley College as well as coordination of care of students beyond the scope of the Student Health Center to specialists, labs, counseling and own family medical doctors. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited triage evaluations and care of students both on own initiative as well as under direction of MD's protocols; ordering medications and medical supplies for department while maximizing cost effectiveness; administering immunizations to students and keeping records; triage of employee illnesses and injuries and directing them to appropriate care; screening of pre-entrance physicals and immunization records for new students.
Position requires graduation from accredited nursing school program plus a RN degree as well as be registered in the State of Pennsylvania with CPR and AED training and certification. Must remain current with CPR and AED certification and continue with yearly update of 30 CEUs as required.
DIRECTOR, EDUCATIONAL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM - (051710/17000/18) - This is a full-time, 12 month, non-tenure track position reporting directly to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Position will oversee all operations of the Educational Leadership program including the hiring, supervision and evaluation of all faculty and staff, curriculum and program management, budget, student recruitment and advising and other duties to ensure the efficient operation of the Master's of Science Educational Leadership Program. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to: Keeping current with Pennsylvania Department of Education and the New Jersey Department of Education standards regarding the degree and certifications offered at the college; teaching 9 contract hours each academic year (three contract hours during the spring, fall, and summer sessions) at the graduate and undergraduate level; developing, administering, and scoring the Educational Leadership Comprehensive Exam each semester; attending regular faculty and department chair/director meetings; serving as a member of the Graduate Council, working collaboratively with the directors of other graduate programs to ensure the coordination of program growth and success; engaging in all college and program activities as deemed appropriate by the Vice President of Academic Affairs/Dean of Faculty.
Position requirements: Doctorate in Education or related field from a regionally accredited institution; successful administrative experience in the public education setting with additional experience in higher education; a record of scholarly activity. CUSTODIAN - (043010/64002/16) - Full-time position working 3pm to 11:30pm, including every other weekend. Needed to perform custodial and housekeeping duties with ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. Duties include but are not limited to reconciling accounts in general ledger, A/P, and bank statement; preparing and posting journal entries, month/year end closing; audit/tax return; reporting for college (FISAP/IPEDS, EZ Audit, etc.); grants accounting; invoicing and A/R of non-student accounts; Datatel training to faculty and staff; monitoring payment arrangements for students.
Position requires a Bachelor's' Degree in Accounting or related field plus 3-5 years related experience. Working knowledge of accounting principles, methodology, and practices along with knowledge of Microsoft Office and Datatel required.
ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF LIBERAL ARTS - (031010/13001/08) - This is a full-time, 9 month, tenure track position in the Liberal Arts Department - International Studies. Responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching courses in International Studies as assigned such as Cultural Anthropology, Comparative Politics, Political and Cultural Geography, Critical Issues in World History, International Political Economy, Cultural Minorities, The American Family, Introduction to Sociology, and Non-Western Societies; posting and maintaining regular office hours; attending regularly scheduled faculty and department meetings; participating in professional development activities.
Position requires a Ph.D. in Sociology with significant academic credentials and teaching experience in World History, Comparative Politics, Cultural Anthropology, Cultural Geography, and International Political Economy in addition to international specialization, teaching subjects related to specialty at the college level, and evidence of successful research. Excellent oral and written communication skills required along with the commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentoring. An ongoing commitment and achievements in research, scholarship, and faculty development are required. Experience with online delivery of courses is preferred.
