Skiing Near DelVal

The temperatures are dropping and the winter season is upon us, but that doesn’t mean you should hide in your residence hall under blankets! Along with the cold comes the opportunity to participate in winter activities, including skiing, snowboarding, and snow tubing! There are plenty of mountains and ski resorts around Delaware Valley University where you can hit the slopes.

Spring Mountain Adventures

Spring Mountain Adventures is a year-round resort that has endless activities and entertainment guaranteed to provide hours of fun. During the winter months, Spring Mountain offers skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing – all in one location. 

Spring Mountain features eight trails, two snow tubing runs, four lifts and terrain parks for you to either enjoy a leisurely trip down the mountain or to get an extreme rush of adrenaline. Don’t have skis or a snowboard? Not to worry; Spring Mountain’s rental shop has the latest boots, tuned boards and helmets. Professionals make sure the equipment is properly fitted and meets your skill level.

Spring Mountain is located at 757 Spring Mt. Road in Schwenksville and is approximately a 40-minute drive from DelVal, only minutes from the Lansdale exit on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Blue Mountain

Blue Mountain is a ski resort that caters to all levels, from snow tubing to bunny hills to Pennsylvania’s highest vertical drop at 1082 feet. So whether you’re new to snow sports, or looking for a thrill, you’ll be accommodated at Blue Mountain. This mountain is also home to the longest runs and a varied terrain park with 39 slopes that challenge every level of skier and snowboarder. 

When you’ve worked up an appetite on the slopes, shed your layers and warm up at Slopeside Pub and Grill. Enjoy lunch or dinner for a meal of burgers, sandwiches, clams and more while taking in the breathtaking views.

Bear Creek Mountain Resort

Bear Creek has more than 86 acres of slopes, trails and terrain parks, offering something for every level of skier or rider. For the beginner, there is a carpet lift as well as a triple chair lift, while the expert will enjoy the three progressive terrain parks with a variety of freestyle features.
