How to plan for Graduation

There are countless benefits to the noncredit courses offered at DelVal. Download and complete the registration form, then send it to cps@delval.com to register for your desired course. 

Graduation at DelVal is a time to commemorate your education and all the work you’ve put into achieving your degree. Make this last day at DelVal the best one yet. The last thing you want is to be unprepared for graduation day, so keep reading to find out all you need to know about DelVal graduation.

Senior Checklist
Before graduating, it’s important to complete all of the necessary steps for obtaining your degree and participating in the commencement ceremony. It’s crucial that you check with the registrar, financial aid and bursar’s offices to find out if you have any outstanding obligations that you need to satisfy. You also need to check in with the Center for Student Professional Development and with residence life.  Review the Senior Checklist on DelVal’s website to make sure you’re eligible for graduation.

Saturday, May 16
Continental breakfast: Graduation day, Saturday, May 16, will begin with a continental breakfast for graduates and their families. From 7:45 to 9:45 a.m., graduates and their families will gather in the Student Center Courtyard to enjoy time with others. In the case of inclement weather, the breakfast will be held in Levin Dining Hall.

Baccalaureate service: The baccalaureate service will be held in the Block Chapel from 9 to 9:45 a.m.

Graduates report to marshaling area: At 10 a.m., graduates will report to the marshaling area, which will be between Work and Centennial Halls, to gather to prepare for the commencement ceremony.

Commencement ceremony: The commencement ceremony will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon on the Academic Quad.

Commencement lunch: Following the ceremony, graduates are invited to the Moumgis Auditorium in the Student Center for the commencement luncheon. 

Guest Information  
Family members and friends from out of town may be attending your graduation ceremony, so make sure they feel comfortable by providing them with some information about the area. Tell them about the history, let them know about hotels nearby where they can stay, as well as restaurants in the area. They also can check out the Guest Information Guide on the our website.
