Many establishments understand that money can be tight for college students, so they often grant discounts and offers.

From groceries to clothing, chances are there will be a store nearby that will offer a student discount. Check out the different categories below to find out which stores near you will help to knock a few dollars off your next purchase.

Food

Eating at the dining hall or on campus day after day can get old. Fortunately for your taste buds, there are restaurants that will give you a student discount, including chains such as Subway, Pizza Hut, Papa John's, Chick-Fil-A, Qdoba, Waffle House, Dairy Queen, Burger King, McDonald's, Arby's, Chipotle and Subway. If you're not sure whether a restaurant offers a student discount, ask the cashier or waitress.

You can also sign up for the Sam's Club Collegiate Membership, which will get you a $15 gift card in addition to being able to stock up on your favorite food staples for less.
