Fall Events at DelVal That Freshmen Should Attend

Posted on September 29, 2015 by Delaware Valley University.

Fall is a beautiful time of year here in Doylestown, and Delaware Valley University is home to a number of great fall events. While these DelVal events are geared toward the whole school, they’re especially important for DelVal freshmen to attend who want to get a better feel for the DelVal community.

Freshmen are still getting acclimated to life at DelVal throughout the fall semester. This is common for all new college students, but you can build a sense of familiarity with your DelVal community and fellow students and peers by taking part in the events occurring. Learn more about fall events at DelVal that freshmen should attend below.

20th Annual Golf Classic
If you’re an avid golfer and you’re looking for a great course in the area to play with some golfers around the same handicap as you, get out and meet your fellow DelVal golfers at the 20th Annual Golf Classic. You’ll get the chance to play 18 holes at the Saucon Valley Country Club and meet new friends. There will be 130 golfers in attendance, making this a great networking event for students looking to get ahead.

The 20th Annual Golf Classic will be held on Monday, October 5 from 8 am to 5 pm.

Homecoming Football Game
If you didn’t already know, DelVal is home to one of the more competitive Division III football programs in the area. For DelVal freshmen who are sports fans, you need to see a football game at Robert A. Lipinski Field, and what better game to go to with your fellow students who live in your residence hall than the homecoming game? Watch as DelVal takes on Stevenson during a noon game and you’ll see the 2015 Homecoming Court announced at halftime.

The homecoming football game between DelVal and Stevenson will kick off on Saturday, October 10.

Precarious Alliance Symposium: ‘Land and the American Dream’
Taking advantage of the speakers that DelVal brings to campus and the symposiums they hold will enrich the lives of DelVal freshman socially, culturally, and educationally. The Precarious Alliance is group founded by DelVal President Dr. Joseph S. Brosnan that’s dedicated to sparking conversation about the world we live in.

The fall Precarious Alliance symposium, “Land and the American Dream,” will bring in a number of industry professionals and speakers to converse with the DelVal community about what the American dream was meant to be centuries ago and comparing that to our world today, whether it be our economic, social, or environmental state. The speakers will educate DelVal freshmen about these concerns and create an open dialogue for a new, sustainable American dream.

The Precarious Alliance will take place Wednesday, October 14 through Friday, October 16.

If you’re a freshman at DelVal, get out there and explore all that your university has to offer this fall semester.
